Two detained for stabbing woman in downtown Portland

Two people were taken into custody in connection with a stabbing incident that left a young woman seriously injured near the Portland City Target store Wednesday afternoon, law enforcement officials confirmed.

The victim, who is said to be in her 20s, was stabbed outside Target store located at the corner of Southwest 10th Avenue and Alder Street just minutes before 1 p.m. on Wednesday this week.

The woman, whose name was not revealed, was rushed by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of her severe wounds.

After receiving good descriptions of the assailants from eye witnesses, police officers spotted and detained the suspects in Old Town. One of the two suspects is male and the other is female.

The female accused in the stabbing incident was also injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. Police investigators say she was apparently injured in the initial attack. Investigators also believe that the victim and the suspects are acquainted with each other.

No more information was disclosed as the incident is still under investigation. But, police officials have assured that there is no continued risk to the public.
