A quick look at Auburn’s first scrimmage of this spring

Auburn Tigers’ first scrimmage of this spring included some really impressive hits, including take-downs of three quarterbacks, viz. Jeremy Johnson, John Franklin III and Sean White.

The three quarterbacks rotated with the first and second team units. Touchdown passes weren’t frequent on the scoring slate, but they also didn’t throw interceptions.

Johnson made his presence felt by throwing a 75-yard touchdown pass to the team’s running back Roc Thomas on a wheel route, while Franklin III broke off a surprising 70-yard run.

Auburn has confirmed that its upcoming softball series against South Carolina has been changed in anticipation of unfavorable weather conditions.

The two softball teams are now scheduled to play a doubleheader on coming Saturday at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. The series was originally scheduled to take place Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Auburn alumna runs 50 half marathons - one in each state of US

An Auburn grad has completed an epic journey by successfully running 50 half marathons, one in each state in the U.S., in the past five years.

Ashley Ahner, a 28-year-old Auburn alumna, finished her 50th half marathon the recently past weekend at Auburn’s “Finish on the 50” race. It was the culmination of her five years of planning and hard work.

Tight end Tre’ McKitty to visit Auburn again this Tuesday

Tre’ McKitty, a three-star tight end at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., has announced that he will pay a visit to Auburn for the second time this Tuesday.

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound tight end has been invited to Nike’s The Opening Finals following his impressive performance at the Atlanta Opening Regional last Sunday. the top tight end also confirmed that he will bring his father along.

Speaking about his upcoming visit, McKitty said, “It’s a great campus. New facilities in a great area, too, so I like that. I think highly of Auburn. I just want my dad to see it, too.”

Rescue crews recovered a man floating face down in the American River near Auburn just after noon on Sunday, a spokesperson for the California Department of Forestry & Fire Protection confirmed.

The California Department of Forestry & Fire Protection said rescue crews responded to a report about a man floating face down in the river at around 12:30 p.m. yesterday. The man was spotted floating in the American River near Highway 49 and Old Foresthill Road.

Several public health officials, government officers and community members assembled at Auburn Junior High School on Friday to raise drug awareness among students.

Addressing the students, speakers shared their experiences how to cope with the heroin epidemic that has ruthlessly been gripping the New York State and devastating families. The drug awareness assembly educated students on the dangers and realities of addiction to drugs.

Trying to raise awareness about increasing drug epidemic, they also emphasized on the recent rise in painkiller prescriptions and heroin use.
