Nick Marshall will soon reassume the role as Auburn Tigers' starter against San Jose State while Jeremy Johnson will take the backseat, as the team's coach believes that Jeremy cannot run like Nick.

Johnson's impressive debut at SEC gave the team's coaches confidence, but the threat of Marshall in the running game gave the Tigers a much-required energy in the second half as they outshined the Razorbacks with a score of 24-0.

Police identifies victim in ‘blood-soaked items’ case

Blood found on items that an unidentified man was trying to burn along an Auburn roadway earlier this month came from 30-year-old Brandon Shane Zomalt, Auburn police revealed on Friday.

On August 13, an officer from the Homeland Security Department found a man trying to burn some blood-soaked clothes and other items on the side of Peasley Canyon Road in Auburn. The officer could not identify the man because he quickly took off from the area in a dark-colored sports utility vehicle (SUV).

Two Auburn basketball players have taken an "indefinite leave of absence" from the team, Bruce Pearl, coach of the team, confirmed on Friday.

In a statement released yesterday, Pearl said Auburn guard Alex Thompson and center Ronald Delph took leave of absence for indefinite period of time. The coach also confirmed that the two players have also been removed from Auburn's online roster. However, the coach declined to comment on the two players' situations.

Eight Auburn University students test positive for TB infection

Eight students of Auburn University have been tested positive for latent tuberculosis (TB) infection but they have so far not developed the actual disease, the Alabama Department of Public Health revealed.

The department also assured that the eight students tested positive for latent TB infection are not contagious. These students were among those who were in close contact with a student who was found infected by pulmonary TB earlier this month.

Auburn to honor Lutzenkirchen, Langner before opening this season

Auburn will remember and honor its former players Philip Lutzenkirchen and David Langner with a moment of silence on Saturday before starting its match against Arkansas, the football team's coach, Gus Malzahn, announced on Wednesday.

The two former Auburn players died earlier this year. Langner passed away 26th of April after a long battle with cancer; while Lutzenkirchen, the former tight end with Auburn, died in an accident on 29th of June this year outside LaGrange, Georgia.

Auburn Gymnastics Center kicked off this season with a win. The center's Level 3 and Level 4 teams competed last Saturday in their first meet of this season at the "NAWGJ Judges Cup" Northern California Women Gymnastic Judges Association.

Hosted in Rancho Cordova, by Technique Gymnastics, the meet provided the Auburn Gymnastics Center's gymnasts with an opportunity to grab the third-place team award for the Level 3 team.

With Auburn Tigers' first practice of Arkansas game week is quickly drawing near, the team is willing to unleash at least a couple of its freshmen.

Coaches of the Auburn Tigers team are quite comfortable to allow freshmen Roc Thomas and Peyton Barber to enter the ground in case the need arises.

Auburn offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee acknowledged freshmen could make mistakes at times, but he added that they were as prepared as they could be to hold onto the football.
