Portland signals more aggressive approach to ‘zombie houses’

Signaling a more aggressive approach to the so-called “zombie houses,” Portland authorities have announced that they want to be able to foreclose on deserted, vacant and abandoned homes.

The city authorities also declared that they could seek to a court order to place such houses under the control of a third party, paving the way for cleaning up properties and put them back on the market.

Three people were detained on Monday after a shooting in the drive-thru of a Northeast Portland McDonald’s restaurant left two people wounded, police confirmed.

Sgt. Greg Stewart, a spokesperson for the Portland Police Department, said that officers responded to the area of Northeast 108th Avenue and Weidler Street at around 5:20 p.m. Gang Enforcement Team members also arrived to investigate the shooting.

After being arrested and booked on a DUII charge late Saturday night, former U.S. Women’s National Team star Abby Wambach has taken full responsibility for her actions.

Portland police confirmed that Wambach was pulled over in her 2014 Range Rover at around 11:05 p.m. last Saturday after she failed to stop at a red light at Southwest 13th Avenue and Taylor Street in the downtown area of the city.

Police identify two people involved in downtown Portland stabbing incident

Portland police identified the suspect as well as the victim who was stabbed outside a Target store in downtown Portland earlier this week.

The victim was identified as 26-year-old Tiffany Buie, while the suspect was identified as 36-year-old Travis Dana Peterson. Police said both individuals were acquainted with each other.

The stabbing incident took place at SW 10th and Alder, just before 1 p.m. on Wednesday this week. A witness named Sarah Sutton described the incident saying, "Blood everywhere . All over the sidewalk, all over the other person, it was just really gruesome."

Two detained for stabbing woman in downtown Portland

Two people were taken into custody in connection with a stabbing incident that left a young woman seriously injured near the Portland City Target store Wednesday afternoon, law enforcement officials confirmed.

The victim, who is said to be in her 20s, was stabbed outside Target store located at the corner of Southwest 10th Avenue and Alder Street just minutes before 1 p.m. on Wednesday this week.

The woman, whose name was not revealed, was rushed by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of her severe wounds.

A Portland massage therapist arrested earlier this month for sexually abusing a client has been indicted for sexually abusing half a dozen more women, officials confirmed.

Multnomah County deputy district attorney Jeffrey Auxier said Benjamin Collura is now charged with 1 count of second-degree sexual abuse, 8 counts of third-degree sexual abuse and 3 counts of third-degree sexual abuse.
