The cities of Portland, Seattle and San Francisco have shown special love for Vermont senator Bernie Sanders, who enjoys particular popularity among the West Coast cities’ working-class voters.
According to the Seattle Times, Seattle ranks no. 1 per capita among the nation’s biggest cities in making donations for Sanders’ election campaign. The cities of San Francisco and Portland follow the Emerald City in terms of donations to the Vermont senator at no. 2 and no. 3, respectively.

As housing and rental prices continue to soar and apartment vacancy rates have tumbled to almost zero in Portland, the city needs more affordable housing.
Portland’s is popular as a place to live, work and retire. Thus, it has been attracting more and more people. But, the same popularity has created the shortage of affordable housing.

A Portland man, who has worked as a massage therapist in the city for several years, has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a client, police confirmed.
A woman has lodged a complaint with the city police department that the massage therapist, identified as 32-year-old Benjamin Thomas Collura, sexually abused her while giving a massage at River’s Edge Hotel & Spa in SW Portland last month.

The board of the Portland Business Alliance has formally announced the group's decision to endorse Ted Wheeler in the city's 2016 mayoral race.
Announcing the decision, the Portland Business Alliance's board chairman Mitch Hornecker said their decision came down to one 'critical attribute,' i. e., experience. He added that Wheeler's experience as the head of two key government entities, viz. Multnomah County and the Oregon Treasury, made him the best prepared to lead the city.

The upcoming IAAF Championships, a biennial meet which is set for March 18-20 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, will offer an estimated $24 million economic impact in addition to bring the city into limelight.
It is for only the second time in history and the first time in as many as three decades that the IAAF championships are going to be held in the United States. On Friday and Saturday this week, the U.S. National Indoor Track and Field Championships will take place at the convention center.
