Stunning Storm recorded from 37,000 feet above Pacific Ocean

Last month, pilot Santiago Borja clicked a striking picture of lightning flashes revealing a huge storm high over the Pacific Ocean. Borja captured an isolated cloud amid a threatening thunderstorm being at an altitude of 37,000 feet while travelling from New York to Guayaquil, Ecuador.

While speaking to NBC News, Borja said that it isn’t very common to get the luck of flying by this big distant storm. He said that generally they are surrounded by clouds making it impossible to be noticed, and the radar has to be used.

A NASA camera on the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) satellite for the second in a year has captured an image that shows the moon as it moves in front of the sunlit side of earth. The event was recorded on July 5 with the same level of resolution as the first photo bomb of last year.

Adam Szabo, DSCOVR project scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, said that it has happened again with DSCOVR that the moon came in between the spacecraft and earth. Using NASA’s Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera (EPIC), the new photo bomb image was captured.
