SUV fatally hits Auburn pedestrian

A 34-year-old man faces a prison sentence for allegedly hitting and killing an Auburn woman while speeding away in his SUV from a police officer, authorities said.

The tragedy started to unfold just before yesterday midnight when the police officer traveling down Auburn Way South received a call regarding a burglary in the area. He rushed to the site of the reported incident, and encountered Russell Ward.

Ward who was in a SUV attempted to flee. The officer didn’t chase him and proceeded to the 911 call.

Missing Augusta woman found dead in a ravine

The Augusta woman who went missing last Saturday was found dead in a ravine near her home, the Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed on Tuesday.

The dead body of 37-year-old Amanda Sue Ford disappeared at around 11 p.m. on Saturday, the night before her 37th birth anniversary.

Her family told investigators that she had been celebrating her birth anniversary, and a friend had just dropped her off at her mother’s residence in Augusta. But, instead of entering her home, the woman got in her jeep and went away.

A former Chelsea woman will spend one year behind bars after being convicted of aggravated assault and robbery in which her accomplice beat a man with a baseball bat in an effort to snatch his wallet.

Sarah R. Negrete, who is now a resident of Fairfield, was sentenced to five years in prison, with all but the first year suspended, for the May 25, 2014, incident that left the victim of Augusta with injuries to the head and post-traumatic stress.

Augusta murder suspect Damik Davis pleads not guilty

One of the four people, who were arrested and charged with murder in connection with the beating death of a man in Augusta in November last year, pleaded not guilty on Thursday.

Damik Davis, a 25-yer-old resident of Queens, New York, has been charged with murder in a total of three separate forms, viz. intentional indifference, felony murder, murder and robbery related to 31-year-old Joseph Marceau’s death.

Robbery suspect fatally shoots self during Auburn police pursuit

A man wanted by Auburn police in connection with an armed robbery shot himself to death while during a chase by officers in Lee County on Wednesday, authorities confirmed.

Confirming the incident, Auburn Police Chief Paul Register said officers responded to a report of the armed robbery of a business on Longleaf Drive and Cox Road at around 11:50 a.m. local time.

Officers saw the suspect leaving the area in a vehicle at a high speed, they pursued him and repeatedly asked him to stop but he refused to comply with the officers’ orders.

Augusta woman charged with sexually abusing teen

A 36-year-old woman from Augusta has recently been charged with multiple counts of sexual abuse of a minor following a two-week investigation, a spokesperson for the Augusta Police Department confirmed.

Police arrested Loni Ingalls last Friday and arranged for her initial court appearance on Monday through video at the Capital Judicial Center.

According to a complaint field with the court, Ingalls sexually abused a 14-year-old boy and that the sexual abuse occurred in November and December last year and January this year in her apartment.
