Some Uber drivers flee due to surge in Price

Researchers Alan Mislove, Christo Wilson and Le Chen made 43 new Uber accounts and consecutively ordered cars for about four weeks from permanent points throughout San Francisco and Manhattan. The researchers found that most of drivers actually leave surge areas in expectation of fewer people hailing rides.

Semi-Trailer Carrying About 2,200 Baby Pigs Overturned

Thousands of baby pigs gathered on a highway in the southwest Ohio community after a semi-trailer carrying them crashed.

WXIX reported that the accident took place at 7 p.m. local time on Monday on State Route 35, east of Dayton.

The station reported that two people were inside the truck at the time of the crash and were later taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

It was told that several police and fire officials from nearby areas were trying hard to collect the piglets that scattered into a wooded area by the site of the road.

Bounce House Playtime Marred by a Waterspout, Injuring Three Children

An accident in the inflatable bounce house injured three children in Florida when their bouncy was lifted into the air by a waterspout and carried several feet across the South Florida beach.

Keven Dupree, Fort Lauderdale Police spokesman informed that the injured children were alert and conscious when they were taken to a hospital. Two children have sent home from a hospital with minor fractures while the third one is stable and was held overnight for observation at Broward Health Medical Center.

Maryland removes parallel parking requirement from driving test

There will be no problem regarding parallel parking for new drivers in Maryland as it will not be required to pass a driving test. On Tuesday, the requirement was removed by the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration. According to spokesman Buel Young, officials concluded the exercises required to parallel park were being assessed in other parts of the test, like steering, backing, speed control, use of mirrors and judgment of space.

Abhinav Karthikeyan, Eighth grader from Clarksburg among 10 finalists at Nationa

On Wednesday, Abhinav Karthikeyan, a 12-year-old from Clarksburg, Maryland, competed in the National Geographic Bee Championship.

The 10 finalists who have advanced from a field of 54 state-level winners will be competing at the National Geographic Society in D. C.

Earlier, Karthikeyan has taken part in the championship twice, but this is the furthest he's made it. He is the only returning participant.

A Pentagon report on China's military development and security was condemned by Chinese authorities on Monday. Slamming the report, China said that the US' understanding of China's military strength should be "objective" and "rational."

"We urge the US to abandon its Cold War mindset, take off its coloured glasses, and have an objective and rational understanding of China's military development," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said, referring to the report released on Saturday by the US Department of Defence.
