Professional Bull Riders’ BlueDEF Tour coming to Bangor

The much-awaited Professional Bull Riders' BlueDEF Tour is all set to come to Bangor, thanks to efforts made by the Cross Insurance Center's Joe Imbriaco and others to attract the 'high-energy' bull riding tour to the city.

The Professional Bull Riders' BlueDEF Tour is coming to Bangor at 8 p. m. on Friday and 7 p. m. on Saturday. The Cross Insurance Center's general manager Imbriaco said he worked on attracting the tour to the city for a couple of years.

IAAF Championships bring Portland into limelight

The upcoming IAAF Championships, a biennial meet which is set for March 18-20 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, will offer an estimated $24 million economic impact in addition to bring the city into limelight.

It is for only the second time in history and the first time in as many as three decades that the IAAF championships are going to be held in the United States. On Friday and Saturday this week, the U.S. National Indoor Track and Field Championships will take place at the convention center.

Auburn Athletics signs multimedia rights agreement with FOX Sports

Auburn Athletics confirmed on Monday that it signed an exclusive partnership deal with FOX Sports for management of its multimedia rights and sponsorship sales.

FOX Sports College Properties, an arm of FOX’s Home Team Sports, will be responsible for managing rights including athletics-related radio rights, corporate hospitality rights, in-venue signage rights, social media integration rights, promotional activities rights, and intellectual property rights.

Spirited Fiji earns exhilarating victory over Australia

As if the spectators were watching a suspense movie! It was a rugby match of World Series Seven Champions second series. The teams were Australia and Fiji. And the match turned out truly exhilarating only a couple of minutes before it ended. Australia seemed flying with relief with a 15-point lead at the half time. Probably it was beyond their imagination that they would have to forfeit three astounding tries and bock down finally with the score line of 15-21 against Flying Fijians.

The Auburn women’s golf team concluded play at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate as the tournament came to its end at the Long Cove Club on Sunday.

The team enjoyed its best individual round of the day with sophomore Kelli Murphy who scored 77 (+6), tying for 45th spot overall at thirteen-over for the week.

Sophomore Michaela Owen emerged as the top overall finisher for the week for the Tigers. She tied for 26th spot at nine-over. Both Owen and senior Jamie Yun shot 79 (+8) during yesterday’s match.

Texas A&M defeat Tigers 81-63

Despite Tyler Harris’ excellent performance in his final home game on Senior Night, Tigers suffered defeat at the hand of the Auburn A&M in Auburn Arena on Tuesday night.

The game started with promise but later slipped away from Auburn. Texas A&M defeated the Tigers 81-63 even as Harris performed well and scored 20 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and a career-high 3 blocks.

Still, Harris was definitely the brightest spot for the Tigers during the game. After the game, he praised fans, describing them as ‘great’.
